Rev. Howard F. Williamson
Presiding Elder of The Nassau-Eleuthera District, Bahamas Conference

Rev. Thelma Williamson
First Lady & Associate Minister

Reverend Howard F. Williamson was born on the 31st day of March, 1958 in Pine Field, Acklins. He is the second of thirteen children born to the proud parentage of Rev. Newton Williamson, Sr. and the late Ivadell Williamson.

He accepted the call to Ministry in 1978. In 1979 he enrolled in Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida to pursue a Bachelor’s of Degree in Science. He was ordained to the Sacred Gospel Ministry as a Deacon in 1980, then as Itinerant Elder in 1982 by the late Presiding Bishop, Rt. Rev. Samuel S. Morris.

After obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Science, he went on to the Interdenominational Theological Center (Turner Theological Seminary) in Atlanta, Georgia, where he obtained a Master of Divinity Degree. He is the first AME Minister of the Bahamas Conference to graduate with a Seminary Degree, and today, he is the Senior and longest serving Pastor of the Bahamas Conference.

Rev. Williamson recognized that God wanted to use him, so he returned home to help expand the Kingdom of God. He was appointed Pastor of the Robinson-Morris AME Church in 1987 by the Rt. Rev. Phillip R. Cousin. He has served the Robinson-Morris Church for the past twenty-seven (27) years. Additionally, He was appointed by Bishop McKinley Young to serve at Allen AME Church in Rock Sound, Eleuthera, where he served for over four (4) years as Pastor and Presiding Elder. While serving in Eleuthera, he and his wife were instrumental in the completion and dedication of the Allen Chapel in April of 2008. In November 2013, Bishop Adam J. Richardson, Jr. appointed Rev. Williamson as Pastor of St. Luke AME Church, Deep Creek, Eleuthera.

During his tenure at Robinson-Morris, he has accomplished much.  A preschool was established to help educate, mold, and train our young little darlings. Presently, a building with Twenty-Four (24) classrooms is under construction at an estimated cost of over one million dollars ($1,000,000.00).

Rev. Williamson currently sits as the Presiding Elder for the Nassau-Eleuthera District of the Bahamas Annual Conference and the Pastor of Robinson-Morris AME Church. His most recent appointment as President of the Presiding Elders Council of the Eleventh Episcopal District of AME Churches in Florida and the Bahamas (by Bishop Adam J. Richardson, Jr.) makes him the first Bahamian to be appointed to this position.

He is married to the former Rev. Thelma Williamson (Nee Ellis), and they are the proud parents of four beautiful daughters: Denise, Crystal, Cryslyn, Christina, and two grandchildren Dylan and Sasha.
